Shaoyang Lin

Hi, I am a postdoctoral scholar in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech. Currently I am working on studying the effect of electrolyte on electrochemical CO₂ reduction in Dr. Kimberly See’s group at Liquid Sunlight Alliance (LiSA).

In March 2019, I received my Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at Virginia Tech. Under the direction of Dr. Amanda Morris, I investigated catalysis mechanisms and charge transfer pathways of electrochemical and photoelectrochemical reactions catalyzed by metal-organic framework based heterogeneous catalysts. After graduation, I joined Dr. Claudia Turro’s group at The Ohio State University in April 2019 for my first postdoc. I was focusing on illustrating the reaction mechanism, especially the role of redox non-innocent ligands in dirhodium HER electrocatalysts.
